Our number one priority is providing personalized and responsive services to each of our clients. Most of our new clients come to us via referrals from existing clients rather than from advertising, RFPs or “networking.” We understand that our future rests on providing responsive and high quality legal services to each of our clients daily.
We strive to reply to all client questions and calls the same business day, and by the next business day at the latest. If you have an urgent question or need, we will be there for you promptly.
We work as a team with our clients to develop legal strategies and plans, including developing IP investment strategies that fit with our clients’ business needs and resources.
Personal Attention From Our Partners
Our firm culture emphasizes partner involvement in all legal matters. Our partners either handle a particular client matter personally or closely supervise hand-picked associates with the right experience to handle each project. This is true of all matters, whether it is a patent application, litigation, or other matter. Our partners collaborate daily to leverage our mutual experience and diverse professional backgrounds to best address our clients’ legal needs.
We believe that direct partner involvement in every matter enhances the quality of our legal services and ensures a consistent IP strategy across the entire patent portfolio for every client.
Our experience has shown that nothing is more effective in developing associates than hands-on training and mentoring by partners. Unlike “big-law” firms, where associates are often faced with sink-or-swim situations on their own, at Marbury, associates begin shadowing and training with our partners at the beginning of their careers. Working closely with our associates allows partners to gauge their strengths and weaknesses, provide constructive criticisms and help each build critical legal reasoning and analytical skills.
Marbury also invests in formal training for all attorneys and legal staff. We encourage our attorneys to participate in outside CLE and bar association meetings and activities, such as AIPLA meetings and committees. Our partners are active in various bar associations and are frequently invited to speak and teach at bar association and CLE courses, such as the AIPLA Patent Prosecution Training for New Lawyers course. Marbury also holds regular internal meetings to discuss relevant new case law and USPTO procedures, and our attorneys participate in meetings with an informal association of other Metro D.C. area IP boutiques to discuss various important IP and business issues and trends.
