“Apple’s thinking could be to provide all of your medical data and make it available to you on your phone in a way that is convenient and searchable. Call it iTunes for electronic health records—it’s conveniently available and easy to use, it collects and organizes information automatically in the background, and it’s Apple branded, so it’s a trusted brand,” Mr. Hyams said.
